Colossians 3:18-4:1

What does life to the full look like? How do we bridge the gap between the Christian we are and the Christian we want to be? More than anything, being a Christian is living a life in pursuit of Jesus' reign over your life. This week, we continue to look at Colossians and how Paul invites us to “put on” Christ.

What does it really mean to be a Christian? Is it the things you do, the way you speak, where you hangout on Sunday mornings? More than anything, being a Christian is living a life in pursuit of Jesus reign over your life. This week, we continue to look at Colossians and how Paul urges us, as Christians, to continually practice putting off our old way of life and putting on the abundant life found in Christ.

Colossians 2:16-23

The scriptures declare that God is seeking people who worship in both Spirit and Truth. In an attempt to love God better and worship Biblically, we looked at seven Hebrew words for praise with an emphasis on the power of a spontaneous song.

Colossians 2:6-15

How do we suffer well? Often times, when we find ourselves in the midst of deep pain we want to wonder why rather than how to live through it? How we live through our suffering will always speak louder than why we are suffering in the first place.

This week, in our study through the book of Colossians, we marvel at the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The good news that Jesus, fully God and fully man, stepped out of heaven to confront the reality of our sin to reconcile us, His beloved creation, back into relationship with Him.

The church in Clossae is in a small town and facing big problems. Syncretism and Gnosticism are creeping into the church and those ideologies still exist in the church to this day. Paul begins to confront these issues with an attitude of gratitude and a heartfelt encouragement to continue to be filled with the Gospel they received at first.
