We have more information at our fingertips than ever before, but information isn’t the same as wisdom. In this message, we look at Proverbs and discover that true wisdom is seeing life from God’s perspective and knowing what to do because of it. Wisdom is available to everyone, comes from God, and is ours to ask for.
You don’t have to be older, stronger, or have it all figured out for God to use you. Through the story of David and Goliath, we see how even small faith can make a big impact. The same God who was with David is with us, giving us new opportunities to step out in faith and impact the world around us.
Pressure from school, sports, friendships, family, and our own expectations can quickly feel like more than we can carry. But Jesus never asks us to carry it alone.
In this message from our Same God series, we learn how to recognize pressure, bring it to Jesus, and find rest by sharing the weight with Him.
The people closest to us have a powerful influence on who we’re becoming. In Week 2 of Same God, Taylor challenges students to take an intentional look at their friendships and ask: Are the people closest to me helping me become more like Jesus?
Using Jesus’ own circles of friendship and the fruit of the Spirit as a guide, we learn that not everyone should have the same level of influence in our lives. Wise friendships don’t happen by accident. We get to choose people who demonstrate good fruit, speak truth, and push us toward Jesus.
This week’s challenge: identify one person you want to intentionally walk with this year, and take a step toward building that friendship.
A new school year brings new classes, new people, new opportunities, and plenty of unknowns. In Week 1 of Same God, Taylor looks at Joshua 1 and the promise Joshua received as he stepped into an entirely new season: the God who was with Moses would be with him, too. Our circumstances will change, but Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever. Whatever this year holds, we can be strong and courageous because God’s presence goes with us everywhere.
What do you tell yourself when life doesn’t match what you expected? In this week of Summer in the Psalms, Taylor walks through Psalm 103 and the power of reminding our souls what is true about God. Our circumstances may change, but God doesn’t. He is merciful, gracious, compassionate, forgiving, and full of steadfast love. When our souls feel overwhelmed or out of alignment, we can remember who God is, what He has done, and tell ourselves something more true than what our circumstances are telling us.
What are you really pursuing? Taylor walks through Psalm 63 and David’s determination to seek God even in a dry and weary season. We see that God isn’t distant or impossible to find. He invites us to seek Him with our whole hearts, both individually and together, and promises to meet us there. And even better, before we ever pursued Him, Jesus pursued us and gave everything to bring us into relationship with Him.
Who gets to tell you who you are? In Week 2 of Summer in the Psalms, we walk through Psalm 139 and two very different ways of building our identity. The world tells us to look within ourselves first, but God’s Word gives us a better way: look up to God, look around for people who will help form us, and then look within to discover how He uniquely made us. You are not an accident. You are remarkably and wonderfully made, created on purpose and given an identity in Jesus that you don’t have to earn.
What kind of King is Jesus? As we kick off Summer in the Psalms, Taylor walks through Psalm 2 and three characteristics of the King we follow: Jesus is good, trustworthy, and powerful. From caring for the lost to meeting us in the middle of our storms and even displaying power over death, Jesus shows us again and again that He is a King we can trust with our lives. No matter what we face, our King is with us, He is for us, and He is ultimately in control.
