Sarah talks about the  texts assigned for the 4th Sunday of Easter, which is often called Good Shepherd Sunday. The Psalm and the Gospel reading both make explicit references to the metaphor of the Good Shepherd, but what all 4 texts have in common is what it means that God loves us, how that love looks, and what that means for us as children of God.

Sarah talks about the Easter account according to the Gospel of Mark (Mark 16:1-8). This account does not include a resurrection appearance by Jesus and ends with the women fleeing the tomb in terror, telling no one of Jesus's resurrection. And yet there IS good news in this short and awkward story.

Sarah discusses 3 of the 14 readings that are assigned for the Easter Vigil.  First is Genesis 7:1-8; 11-18; 8:6-18; 9:8-13, which tells the story of Noah's Ark and God's promise to never again flood the earth.  Next is Proverbs 8:1-8; 19-21; 9:4b-6, which talks of Woman Wisdom, and might seem like an odd choice for the Vigil.  Finally, she looks at Romans 6:3-11 which speaks of how when we are baptized we are baptized into both Jesus' death and resurrection, and why this is good news.
