Mary is a wife, mother, teacher, artist and herbalist. She’s been in awe of the beauty and wonder of nature all her life. She started studying herbs in 2018 and in 2020 she started her business, Sage Essence Botanicals. In addition to She crafts all-natural soap, herbal salves and other products, teaches classes about herbs and holistic health in her local community and offers one-on-one herbal health consultations virtually. "Sage Essence" is a nod to the wisdom, vitality, and abundance innately present in the natural world. Mary believes nature gives us everything we need to live abundant, fulfilling lives and she hopes to inspire others to seek this wise path to wellness for themselves. Mary is passionate about ancestral nutrition, women’s health, bioregional herbalism, native plant conservation and sustainable/ethical practices in herbalism. When she’s not whipping up herbal concoctions, ferments, and nourishing meals, she also loves foraging, hiking, gardening, crafting, art, and thrifting.
