Florida's PIP, (P – I – P) personal injury protection. It’s a mandatory part of your auto policy in the state of Florida. At one point it meant, if you were injured in an auto accident you could count on $10,000 worth of coverage for your medical bills and or your lost wages. It isn't any longer.
Now in order for your PIP to be used to pay your medical bills, your injuries have to be declared as an emergency. You have to have sought emergency treatment at the outset of injuries.
