A lad was walking down the street with his mother when a gust of wind carried some trash across the walk way, blowing several large bills across his feet.

She was a widow and was destitute!  Her husband had been in what we would term today “full-time Christian work.”

When you find yourself saying, "I don't have time," you are really saying, "I don't consider this important enough to take time for it!"

With all the inventions of modern technology, no one has come up with any means of putting more hours in the day.

Probably no other generation in all history has so been its captive.  It's called time, and your schedule and life are controlled by its inexorable power.

Ed and Jane didn't quite see eye to eye.  Neither was interested in anybody else, and neither were they interested in each other.  Marriages are not all destroyed by cannon fire or shot through with infidelity.

What would it take for you to be really satisfied?  "If I only had" [we often say, usually filling in the blanks with material items], "then I would be happy."

He also said, “Watch out for the teachers of the law” (Mark 12:38).  On at least three occasions He urged His followers to “Watch out that no one deceives you.”

It’s all a matter of perspective.  Question:  Who are your heroes?  And, why?

Long ago the writer of the book of Hebrews said that the word of God, meaning the Bible, is sharp and powerful.
