Our Famous Girl Guide for this week is Wonder Woman herself, Lynda Carter, who is so much more than just a costume and her Lasso of Truth! 

And to wrap up, we sing the Spark’s opening song - Sparks Jump Up! and enjoy the enthusiasm of the song.

Now that summer is finally here, we can go camping...Kinda! 

Keep away thoughts COVID blues and take a walk down memory lane with us as we talk about some of our camping memories! 

Then, once you're all camped out, join us around the campfire to learn about the author of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day, and sing I meet a Bear!

In program we talked about how mentorship helps everyone get ahead and learn new things.

This week's Famous Girl Guide, is Michaëlle Jean, the Former Governor General of Canada, and Secretary-General of La Francophonie.

The campfire song is a little controversial, but still important to talk about so everyone knows the story of why Princess Pat isn't sung as much anymore.

This week on Guides' Own, we talk about the future and Space! 

For Space Day, Astronomy Day and Star Wars Day we are looking towards the future and wondering what Guiding will look like down the road.  For program we look towards the stars and talk about Astronomy and how we were taught about it as girls.

In SWAGGYK we talk about Helen Sharman, one of the first British astronauts.

To wrap it up, we come back to earth and sing all of nature's harmonies with 'Listen to the Earth'

Just because we are all stuck at home doesn't mean that we can't celebrate Earth Day!  This week we talk about how to celebrate Earth Day from a safe distance and what we can do year-round to make a difference for the world! 

In she was a Girl Guide you know we talk about the former head of the EPA and the Climate Czar for the White House, Carol Browner! 

We wrap it up with a campfire like we do every week and talk about  Tall Trees, a song that somehow has no history, but has actions!

Everyone has some great travel stories from their years of guiding. Come join us as we remember some of our favourites!  During Program, we talk about the wild and wacky things we have done as girls and leaders that count toward badge work. Video games anyone?

Now that we have learned about the promise, law, motto, a little history, and the important signs and symbols of Girl Guides, we are officially ready to be enrolled as full members of the Guides' Own! 

Join us as we talk about why enrollment is important, and advancement as well.

For program, we talk about what healthy living means and how being healthy is more than just eating well and getting enough exercise.  

Our "She was a Girl Guide you Know?" is an athlete who understands being healthy is more than just being at the top of her physical game; it is tennis star Venus Williams!

Our campfire song is 'Make New Friends', which is a classic for all ages.

Everyone knows the best part of being a Girl Guide is the cookies! Come with us as we learn about the history of the Canadian cookie and how it inspired international sister organizations to start selling their own. Also, learn about some of the soft/transferable, skills that cookie selling has taught us over the years; which have helped us become the successful women we are today!
