Today’s guest is what we call a “Game Changer” on the court and in the lives of children and athletes. Our guest sprouted to the tall height of 5’8 while she was in middle school. Her height and athletic skills became her advantage as she began playing basketball. She was recruited from Rockwood’s Lafayette High School to St. Louis University on a full basketball athletic scholarship. In her four years there, she scored over 1,000 points and grabbed over 500 rebounds. After graduating magna cum laude, she went on to play professional basketball in Germany before starting her career as a championship-winning coach-helping lead the St. Louis Surge to a National Championship in 2014.
Off the court, our guest has made a name for herself as an accomplished author who is passionate about empowering the lives of young women. She has published multiple books that help to inspire and motivate, including The Game Changing Assist: Six Simple Ways to Choose Success, The Female Athlete’s Guide to Dominate Life After College, and most recently The Fundamental Game Plan: Every Basketball Player’s Academic and Athletic 12 Week Success Tracker.
A nationally recognized leader, she has been awarded the Robin Roberts Sports Communication Award, has been honored by Black Girls Rock St. Louis and received the Distinguished Young Professional in Education and Youth Empowerment from the Urban League of Metropolitan St. Louis.
