  • I'm a Lucky Man, I'm a Liking Man
With The High Djinn I was aiming for a 'folky singer-songwriter meets blues man gone to Mali' vibe. I wanted it roots and I wanted it new; not sounding like anyone else I'd heard before, so what I did was go on a western guitar music diet and experiment with traditional stringed instruments, percussion and drums. After laying down the tracks I invited my bud Abel Beja; guitarist extraordinaire to layer some amazing traditional guitar melodies and bring the tracks to a whole other level. After all, although I carry the shape-shifter gene, the party is always better with more than one present in the room.

  • Chao Manu - Farewell my drunk pianist
"Chao Manu - Farewell my drunk pianist" is the Wonan tales' first release. It was written with the idea in mind to paraphrase one of Manu Chao's most memorable melodies to me (1:48), and recontextualizing it in a completely different musical genre to demonstrate that melodic forms can take on many different guises and evoke disparate emotions depending upon interpretation; be it by an artist or a consumer.

  • "Back Off Rina" - The Rahyda Projects (2015 release) [Drum And Bass]
This is the second song put together for The Rahyda Projects. Keeping in line with the motto of beginning tracks on mobile devices and expanding into studio, "Back off Rina" turned out to be one of those seldom late-drunk-night-experiences when I let the inner beast loose. Obviously channeling some inner angst against everyday trappings of the muse, to me "Back off Rina" is balls out saying: freedom to be is the only freedom for me. Enjoy...

  • Nu Soufa as Ritimo Malaike
Upon listening to Camayenne Sofa's 'Kononin' I was sold on the idea of reworking African tracks from the 70's, particularly from 1974, the year I was put on this Earth. I decided to call the project Ritimo Malaike, which has its own special connotation in Angola, where my family resided shortly after my birth. It is an inside joke. On stage Ritimo Malaike is performed as a Live Mixing Act, similar to Djing but more spontaneous and improvised, particularly due to having control of individual tracks in each song. Nu Soufa is the first installment of this flash to the past, hope you enjoy it.
