Guilt is a sin. Guilt leads to emotional instability. And if you live by guilt you will lose your perception of reality. Satan uses guilt to manipulate us, to discourage and defeat us. That’s why you need God’s problem-solving devices. Rebound and don’t look back. “Forgetting those things that are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead” (Phil 3:13-14). Guilt will cause repression where you will force things deep inside your soul and never deal with them because repression denies the reality of the problem. When you sin, when you fail, confess your sin to God and move on. Do not look back. Your relationship with God is permanent. “The foundation will not be burned up” (1 Cor 3). With your supernatural spiritual life, you can overcome past feelings of failure, abuse, rejection, and guilt. The Christian life is wonderful. God’s plan for you is amazing. Let go of the past.
