Jesus Christ gave the disciples communion during the Last Supper as a means to remember Him. The communion service is a remembrance service for us also. And it is a test. What do we remember about our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, the anointed Son of God? When you partake of the bread remember He is virgin born, the only true celebrity, impeccable, King of kings and Lord of lords, hypostatic union, God-man in one body forever. The juice represents the removal of the barrier between God and man. The spiritual death of Christ on the cross which is the identification with our sin is what satisfied the justice of God the Father. “God commended His love toward us in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died on the cross for us” (Rom 5:8). “To this witness God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and has committed unto us the very word of reconciliation” (2 Col 5:19).

Turning away from God is like cancer spreading across America. “The fool says in his heart there is no God” (Ps 41:1) or no need for God. Satan’s ultimate objective is to destroy the impact of Christianity this nation projects to the world, to remove us as a client nation. Three areas of cancer are humanism, socialism and internationalism. Refusal to accept that man has a sinful nature. Man can’t solve the problems of mankind. Divine solutions are the only answer. No one man is the answer to how things go in a nation. It’s the people within the country that control the destiny of the country. You are the hope of this nation. As goes your spiritual life, so goes the future of this country. “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). Please pray for America. “If My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sin and I will heal their land” (2 Chron 7:14).

Faith is absolute confidence in God and His Word. Jesus told the disciples, and told us, “Have faith in God” (Mark 11:22). Faith is no doubt, no worry. You have eternal life. God has a plan for your life. Faith means being patient. Learn God’s Word to identify the plan He has for you as you grow spiritually and learn God’s Word, your faith increases. “So, then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” (Rom 10:17). Faith must comply with the plan of God, not your personal needs.

You have supernatural ability as a Christian when you are filled with the Holy Spirit and using the dynamics of the Word of God learned and applied. This is what gives you strength. “Those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles … they will run and not get tired” (Is 40:30). To see the power of God you must stand still sometimes, stand still on His promises. “No weapon that is formed against you shall ever hurt you” (Is 54:17). This requires faith and the faith-rest drill. You can’t have faith if you don’t learn God’s Word. God is asking you to set aside distractions that entangle you and run the race with endurance. “Let us run with endurance the race that is set before us fixing our eyes on Jesus Christ, the author and perfecto of our faith” (Heb 1:1-2).

F.A.M.I.L.Y. is a helpful acrostic to remember the four divine institutions God ordained to preserve us and our nation. The “I” represents intercession and inspiration. Intercessory prayer is when you pray for others, like for your family members, those who aren’t saved, or for our nation’s leaders. It also represents when the Holy Spirit intercedes on your behalf. You inspire those around you when they see your personal growth in the Lord Jesus Christ. They will see how you handle every situation and circumstance with a relaxed mental attitude by applying the Word of God in your soul and demonstrating faith in Him.

Jesus Christ showed us it’s possible to live in the devil’s world and be victorious by following the plan of God, using Scripture, and utilizing the power of the Holy Spirit. You can’t advance in the Christian life if you don’t allow the Holy Spirit to teach you. The Holy Spirit lives in you. He convinces you of sin (John 16:7) and He has a ministry through you where He reveals Christ to the world. “The fruit of the Spirit is love” (Gal 5:22). Every attribute of God is ascribed to the Holy Spirit just as fully and as freely as the Father or the Son.

Satan can’t make you do anything. He can tempt you and your sin nature can tempt you, but the source of all sin is your volition. You choose to sin. Base your decisions on thought, not emotions. The Word of God in your soul is the only thing that will sustain you, carry you through adversity and prosperity in life. Don’t dwell on past failures. “Forgetting those things that are behind” (Phil 3:13). Move ahead in your spiritual life. Use your situation to gain an advantage. Your volition chooses to sin and your volition chooses to confess the sin. Stay filled with the Holy Spirit by using rebound to handle your sin. You need the power of the ministry of the Holy Spirit to grow as a Christian. “The Holy Spirit whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you” (John 14:26).
