November 5 - Guy Fawkes Night in the UK - one of the great annual festivals that is gradually in decline succumbing to the irrelevance of Halloween. 

Guy Fawkes night "celebrates" ( perhaps commemorates is a better word) something really significant a plot that got quite close to damaging the "mother of all parliaments" .

The Middle Passage was the forced transatlantic voyage that carried millions of enslaved Africans to the Americas between roughly 1518 and the mid‑19th century, marked by extreme overcrowding, disease, abuse, and mortality rates often reaching 15–20 percent.

The inspiration for this track was the TV programme "Finding Britain's Slave Traders" with David Olusoga. It explores the the individuals, institutions and organisations who financed Britains trade in enslaved Africans from the 16th century to abolition in 1807.

The disarmingly modest Professor William Pettigrew led the academic research to produce the Register of British Slave Traders - look it up online for some fascinating reading.
