My 96 year old Mum ( 97 tomorrow ) was a great gardener and at this time of year would have borders full of daffodils. Now she lives in her warden controlled flat she would like a few plastic daffodils to bring some colour to the place.

When you to agree to do something that somebody asks you but think that they are rather rude or unreasonable: Our new manager doesn’t want to hear our opinions, all he wants is, ‘Yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir.’

The work ethic thing is now slightly bizarre in this country. The balance has tipped so far in favour of the employer that your average good worker is completely de-motivated. They've already given it their all, gone the extra mile, worked their socks off - why should they do any more - usually for a pat on the head and an insincere "thank you" 

Many employers are able to give you the impression that you are completely replaceable - makes you feel really good !

There are so many subtleties in the world I sometimes miss the point. If so and so says something is he/she doing this to provoke a reaction/ make a point/ open a negotiation. Who knows..

A song for someone who dyes their hair. No - thats not the case . This is about not forgetting where you are  from - don't be ashamed of it - you didn't choose it and it made you who you are - warts and all.

Finally .. we're out of the rented house we've been living in for the last 2 years 11 months and 13 days (whose counting) ... and into another rented house ! Barring a total redecoration request from the very very reasonable landlord we may even get a bit of our deposit back .

The Trump 2.0 experiment is really interesting, as long as it doesn't become totally disastrous. One mans vision of how to run the world ... haven't we seen that somewhere before less than 100 years ago ?
