Gumball

Listen Later

Gumball

I remember getting loaded into the bright glass machine

Sitting on top, looking at the world everything was so clean

Little by little it sucked me further down till I finally dropped

Chewed up and blown into a pretty big bubble that popped

Spit out on the sidewalk, no longer useful to anyone

But for a minute I was the pinnacle of childhood fun

But I’m a gumball you know

No potential for a career to grow

It’s a fleeting minute where you’re really it

Till you lose your sweetness, and you’re spit

Yeah, I’m just a gumball you see

Sitting pretty hoping you’ll pick me

Even though it’s just a moment till I fall

A few fleeting seconds I felt like I had it all

I saw you eye me and then fumble for some change

Instantaneous satisfaction till you started acting strange

As quickly as you were drawn to me, I was spat into the trash

And I saw you reach in and haul another me out of your stash

But I’m a gumball you know

No potential for a career to grow

It’s a fleeting minute where you’re really it

Till you lose your sweetness, and you’re spit

Yeah, I’m just a gumball you see

Happy even though it’s the end of me
