Gunsmoke is the story of Marshall Matt Dillon from Dodge City, Kansas during the wild west days of America. Created by Norman MacDonnell and John Meston, the radio version was broaccast from 1952 until 1961, later replaced by the television version that aired from 1955 until 1975. The radio episodes featured William Conrad as Marshall Matt Dillon, Howard McNear as Doc Charles Adams, Georgia Ellis as Kitty Russell, and Parley Baer as Dillon's side-kick Chester Wesley Proudfoot.
