English translation:-
"Koi bolai raam raam koee khudhaae ||
Some call the Lord 'Ram, Ram', and some 'Khuda'.

koee saevai guseeaa koee alaahi ||1||
Some serve Him as 'Gusain', others as 'Allah'.

kaaran karan kareem ||
He is the Cause of causes, and Generous.

kirapaa dhhaar reheem ||1||
He showers His Grace and Mercy upon us.

koee naavai theerathh koee haj jaae ||
Some pilgrims bathe at sacred shrines, others go on Hajj to Mecca.

koee karai poojaa koee sir nivaae ||2||
Some do devotional worship, whilst others bow their heads in prayer.

koee parrai baedh koee kathaeb ||
Some read the Vedas, and some the Koran.

koee oudtai neel koee supaedh ||3||
Some wear blue robes, and some wear white.

koee kehai thurak koee kehai hi(n)dhoo ||
Some call themselves Muslim, and some call themselves Hindu.

koee baashhai bhisath koee suragi(n)dhoo ||4||
Some yearn for paradise, and others long for heaven.

kahu naanak jin hukam pashhaathaa ||
Says Nanak, one who realizes the Hukam of God's Will,

prabh saahib kaa thin bhaedh jaathaa ||5||
knows the secrets of his Lord Master."

ਆਰਤੀ ਧਨਾਸਰੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੧
ਗਗਨ ਮੈ ਥਾਲੁ ਰਵਿ ਚੰਦੁ ਦੀਪਕ ਬਨੇ ਤਾਰਿਕਾ ਮੰਡਲ ਜਨਕ ਮੋਤੀ ॥
ਧੂਪੁ ਮਲਆਨਲੋ ਪਵਣੁ ਚਵਰੋ ਕਰੇ ਸਗਲ ਬਨਰਾਇ ਫੂਲੰਤ ਜੋਤੀ ॥੧॥
ਕੈਸੀ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ਭਵ ਖੰਡਨਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਆਰਤੀ ॥
ਅਨਹਤਾ ਸਬਦ ਵਾਜੰਤ ਭੇਰੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਨੈਨ ਨਨ ਨੈਨ ਹੈ ਤੋਹਿ ਕਉ ਸਹਸ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਨਨਾ ਏਕ ਤੋਹੀ ॥
ਸਹਸ ਪਦ ਬਿਮਲ ਨਨ ਏਕ ਪਦ ਗੰਧ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਹਸ ਤਵ ਗੰਧ ਇਵ ਚਲਤ ਮੋਹੀ ॥੨॥
ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਹੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਚਾਨਣਿ ਸਭ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁ ਆਰਤੀ ਹੋਇ ॥੩॥
ਹਰਿ ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਮਕਰੰਦ ਲੋਭਿਤ ਮਨੋ ਅਨਦਿਨੋ ਮੋਹਿ ਆਹੀ ਪਿਆਸਾ ॥
ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਜਲੁ ਦੇਹਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਰਿੰਗ ਕਉ ਹੋਇ ਜਾ ਤੇ ਤੇਰੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਵਾਸਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੭॥੯॥


Once actor Balraj Sahni asked the late Nobel Laureate Rabindra Nath Tagore,
"You have written the national anthem for India. Can you write a international anthem for the whole world?" "It has already been written, not only international but for the entire universe, in the 16th century by Guru Nanak," replied Tagore. He referred to the Sikh arti (ceremony of light). Gurudev Tagore was so enamoured of this arti that he personally translate it into Bengali.
Every evening in all Gurudwaras, after the recitation of Rehraas Sahib, we can hear a melodious rendition of the arti sung by the Raagis in Raga Dhanashri. This is a tremendously soothing experience, capable of taking us directly into the spiritual realms of devotion through kirtan.
