We have made it to football season. College and Pro are back. It is also fantasy football season as well. The GURU, better known as Commish GURUOS, had the honor to the newest members of the Third And Long fantasy football league. Our league is going into the tenth season and there has been only a handful of players that has been with the league from the beginning. We will be back next week with Episode 234, but I have to prepare for the draft. Wish me luck.

It's finally here, it's going to be really weird, but the debate about a 12 team playoff system is now a reality. The GURU made his predictions and gave some insight to how the season should play out. Without the Pac12, this season will be very unpredictable. New faces in new places. From Simone Biles return to excellence, Katie Ledecky's dominance in the water, and the greatest woman's track team in the history of the Olympic games. The United States has showed the world that we are elite! The final act for us is the United States woman's basketball team, winners of 60 straight games are going for their eight straight gold medal. On Wednesday July 31st, we honored Mr. James Davis, remembering his life and the impact he had on the lives that he touched. Today, the GURU is joined by Mr. Paul Davis, James uncle. We had a chance to sit down and have a great conversation about James and sports. Paul is coming off hos second appearance on the Phantastic Sports Show, a local sports program that airs on Fox 29, week nights at 11:30 pm. We talked about the Eagles front office and how they paid their respects to Mr. Davis. This was one of the most impact full episode in the history of this podcast. It's been a very tough week, since I heard about my cousin's passing. James Davis was a great son, father, husband, nephew, cousin and just a great man. I took just a few moments that I remembered about him. James and I sat down for a great conversation on episode 134. The jokes about the Eagles, Phillies, and the Sixers were never off the table when we always had time to talk. On Wednesday, we will remember the life and times of one great man. Hey, I hope you had a great 4th of July weekend. Well, the GURU had a chance to check out the first NBA Summer League game of Bronny James career. Not too bad, it's only the beginning. As a Lakers fan, I just have to wait, and watch what happens next. I'm looking for Bronny to succeed. Good luck. The WNBA has had over 9,000 player in its history. On July 6th 2024 history was made by, who else? Catlin Clark. Clark is the first player in the league's history to record a triple-double. Not to be overlooked, Angel Reese is setting records for double- doubles, as she now holds the record for the most consecutive games with the doubles. Meet the rest of the MLB All Stars, as the league will announce the reserves for the 94th edition of the MLB All Star Game. We have lost another legendary sports figure this week. Willie Mays has passed away at the age of 93. The GURU takes a look at the life of the greatest all around baseball player. The GURU also gives his formula for the perfect five tool baseball player, any way you put it, you will stll come out with Willie Mays.
The baseball world was directed to Birmingham Alabama for a game between the St. Louis Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants for a turn back the clock game at the oldest ballpark in America.
