We discuss movie projects, our own ideas and learning from mistakes, and Iain sits down for an interview with Raindance festival and film school's founder Elliot Grove. We pick his brains on golden rules, equipment choices, common mistakes, and of course erotic fantasies. AND in Seggy 1, we get our filmmaker juices flowing with a pitch session for what Dwayne Johnson should reboot next...

This week we kick off a mini-series in movie-making with a jump backwards in time to cover some directorial titans' first movies. We discuss what's important to get right in a first movie, whether they were any good and of course, there's a fare bit of sex and nudity from the IMDB Parent's Guide. But before that, we ask each other some REVEALING questions in Seggy 1. What was your first day at work like? What was your first date? What is your first memory of the sex shed? That sort of thing. Just in time for Valentine's Day... it's OUTBREAK MOVIES! In Seggy One Olly asks Dr. Smythe (sp?) to diagnose a number of movie-based illnesses before they ruin the world as we know it. And in this week's Deep Dive, we take a look at some of the best outbreak movies, including The Crazies, Twelve Monkeys some newer twists like The Girl With All the Gifts and the guys establish that the next Pokemon evolution from Olyphant is Eletrunk. In the last of the "chatting about an action hero" episodes for a while, we discuss a man with a particular set of skills: Liam Neeson. In Seggy 1, we'll be guessing whether some nudity is from one of his films, or just something Olly made up, we'll be discussing the ins and outs of Olly's sex shed, whether Owen Wilson has what it takes to become the next dad action lad, and in honour of Neeson's 2012 movie, throughout the episode we play the tense, nautical strategy game Battleships. The 4X Deep Dive will of course be on the life and movies of Liam Neeson.

We're putting a bow on January with a journey into the films and world of Nicolas Cage. Prepare yourself for 1 star reviews of his movies in Seggy 1, including the world's most scathing review of The Rock. Then for the main event we take a conversational stroll through the likes of Drive Angry, Left Behind, Wicker Man and Face/Off, with varying results. Olly gives us a number of fun anecdotes about the man's life, and Iain struggles to pin Olly down on a number as he discusses Cage's "fair share" of wives.

Almost a year in the making (on the backburner), comes JCVD part 2! This time we smash through some awards categories, including; Best Hair, Best Colon, Best Splits and Best Movie and we re-evaluate some of the older work as well as uncovering at least one unexpected gem in the later VOD period. All that in the Deep Dive, but not before Iain tests Olly's knowledge by asking him to connect the glowing 10 star review to the JCVD movie. Get it... NOW!

That's right - much maligned, critically panned, but loved the world over; no we're not talking about the podcast, its Gerard Butler for this episode's Deep Dive! We hit you with a sampler of his career, from Dracula 2000 and Phantom of the Opera, to Machine Gun Preacher and Geostorm... with a sprinkling of stuff we've already covered like Olympus Has Fallen. In our Seggy One, Olly has haphazardly put together a Wrong, Dead Wrong quiz for Iain on the theme of 'Greece' (Grease), and Olly snags a WORLD EXCLUSIVE interview with the man himself.

Despite Olly's appeals that we don't do superheroes or Star Wars... with this week's episode we pretty much hit both food groups near back to back since our Last Jedi review: This week is... Batmans! We cover some of the top elements which make a Batman a Batman; discussing GADGETS (cool!), VILLIANS (bad!), ROBINS! (helpful!). And in our Seggy 1, prepare for some left-field Bat-Villian ideas and a little bit of (too much) Sexy Fan-Fiction. Where previously Olly did his best to sabotage the audio of our Batmans episode, this week we resurrect the ill-fated episode... ENJOY!

In our final podcast of the year, we take some time (we go OVERTIME) to think of the movies which will be out in 2018. We break tradition and ditch Seggy 1 for this week and just use all the time to go month by month through what looks to be an interesting year.
