Kwanzaa is a week-long celebration that honors African-American culture and heritage. It takes place from December 26 to January 1, and is observed by people of all ages and backgrounds. The celebration is centered around seven principles, known as the Nguzo Saba, which include unity, self-determination, collective work and responsibility, cooperative economics, purpose, creativity, and faith. These principles provide a foundation for building a strong and healthy community. Kwanzaa is a time to celebrate the diversity and richness of African-American culture, as well as to build cultural pride and a sense of identity among African-Americans. It is a time to come together with friends and family and to create lasting memories. Whether you are part of the African-American community or not, Kwanzaa is a celebration that has something to offer everyone.
