November 02, 2021Kujichagulia Toast - You must cultivate the ability to distinguish between right & wrongGreat Kuji:If we take a look at the daily news we know that we live in a world where we can see evil and wrongdoing everywhere we go. Some people seem to be blind and cannot see evil and others seem to just ignore it. There is a lot that is portrayed in movies and music where people are glorifying wrongdoings. We can observe the confusion business and governments go through when they try to make legislative decisions. These kinds of things can make it really hard for people to tell the difference between right and wrong. There is always a fine line when it comes to standing up for what you instinctively know is right and making the decision to stand by your values even if this means putting yourself at risk. There are many examples of people who have taken courageous actions to stand up for what they believed in, enduring persecution or even death. Socially, this ability has been defined as conscience or moral judgement.Let’s take a look at the virtue that gets us all tied up in this dilemma. We have made it to the 9th virtue and it is going to be a crazy ride.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more1h 5minPlay
November 01, 2021Umoja Toast - Freedom form resentment under wrongWe are now talking about, “being free from resentment under the experience of wrong.” This is a really difficult place to be and it takes a lot of strength and courage to remain free in this place. We all know what it's like to hurt, but we also know how sensitive we can become when we feel hurt by others. Our hearts can close and we can even become fearful as people come at us more aggressively than we want to be approached. This is why it's best not to take things personally.Know that your hostile environments can be opportunities for growth. You have to take control of how you handle these situations.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more1h 1minPlay
October 31, 2021Imani Toast - Freedom from resentment part 1Great ImaniWe have made it to talking about freedom, congratulations! First step is to remain free in the face of persecution. Persecution is when you run into ill treatment or hostility for being you. This can be very uncomfortable but we have to be able to deal with this. Realize that most people are dealing with you from a point of not understanding. This is due to their own fears and inadequacies, not your weaknesses. Hundreds of studies have proven that humans are mostly influenced by their environment, not intellect or facts. You need to politely ignore most or what people say, don't engage in useless arguments, and learn to forgive those that do not yet realize they are flawed. Learning to let go of resentment is one of the hardest but most important parts of dealing with persecution. The way that you change your heart is by changing your focus away from what you are feeling towards the person who hurt you. Rather than why they treated you poorly, work towards how I can help them to do good. When you focus on the act of kindness, it will not only heal your heart but also produce an attitude change in the hostile party. If change does not happen in them it is not your fault.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more38minPlay
October 30, 2021The Real Kuumba Toast - Faith in my ability to wield the truthGreat KuumbaI've been a truth seeker my whole life. Everything I have done in my life is a search for the truth. Because it's elusive, I've always ended up close to it, but never quite learned what it was. Every encounter with truth has felt like the beginning of the Journey. This is why right now I have such a hard time writing this. Deep down inside of me I know that all of my truths are just approximations and that my master is still waiting for me to learn them properly. And yet here we are: we've made it to the point where now I have to have faith in my ability to wield the truth. Although I have found my higher power, have successfully listened and absorbed the teachings, I find that I still have to have faith in my ability to wield the truth. It has been demonstrated to me many times that what I thought was the truth is false. Can I use the truths I have received to improve myself and my tribe? That is the question that I continue to wrestle with. How do I use this information that is flowing to build something long lasting. This is why I have discussed the principles, sharing my insights, and recording the outcome. We here at Gye-Nyame have reached a point where we have to begin to demonstrate (Wield) the truths and how they can sustain someone. We have begun putting together our 21 week training for those that are interested in joining our tribe or building their own. We will be dropping the information for the training soon enough.....Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more1h 2minPlay

October 29, 2021Nia Toast - Faith in my ability to assimilate the truthGreat Nia:Faith in oneself is a major breakthrough. It is where the student realizes that there is much for them to learn. There is much that can be difficult to assimilate and question, but when the student begins to realize that they have the ability to absorb and ask questions, it is a major breakthrough. This principle today is about realizing you can assimilate and digest what you hear. In the practice of Maat, having faith in one's self is the beginning of a journey to move up the scales of consciousness. It is an examination of your inner strength to allow yourself to look at what is real. Can you hear the lesson that is being taught? Can you accept it for what it is, not discarding it because of preconceived notions? The student must also be able to discern truth from fantasy. Are you willing to listen to your inner voice? We have been looking at faith in a few different ways. Faith to believe in the concept of a master teacher, faith to believe that someone can help us, and faith to believe that what we are doing is worthwhile. Today we are building on those thoughts as we look at my faith in myself. We will need this as we move forward. This is one of those building blocks that continues to build as we go through these lessons. Those first steps give us something to stand on as the rest of the lesson begins to unfold. So be willing to go back over what we have covered in the earlier rants. Not only in the Maatic suite that this lesson will be part of but in all the other suites that we will be providing for our supporters, and for those that will be coming through the Future Self Mastery Course (21 weeks of practice). Also be bold enough to explore your inner world with some meditation. October 28, 2021Ujamaa Toast - Imani in my master's ability to teach me the truthToday we are talking about having faith in a master. A master is someone who has been through the steps of where you are trying to go, and they can offer you guidance on the path. I’m sure you’ve all seen TV programs or movies which have shown us that having a great mentor is very important. So I think it only makes sense to talk about the virtue that speaks about finding that great mentor. When I hear the word master, I think about a person who has been where I want to get. They have made it through what I am trying to do and can offer guidance in regards to their personal experience in that area. Please take some time and checkout the seventh tool we talked about in the “Player’s Pyramid”. We talked about finding ourselves a mentor (Master) so this concept is not new to those that have been around Gye-Nyame Tribe.Listen in and be sure to got GNJ.Media to sign up for our email list.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more39minPlay
October 27, 2021Ujima Toast - Devotion of PurposeGreat Ujima:Join us today as we examine devotion. Do you have a purpose in your life? Have you devoted yourself to that higher ideal? How about the rest of the world that has lost touch with what devotion is all about? Let's go there today! We all have a purpose in life. Some of us necessarily do not know it yet. It is about knowing yourself and who you are, what you feel you were born to do. Being lost is fine, because that's part of the journey of life. If you are simply lost, then that's okay too. Devotion to Purpose will allow you to live by your convictions rather than allowing others to determine them for you. October 26, 2021Kujichagulia Toast - Control of thoughtGreat Kujichagulia:Sometimes we need to pause and ask ourselves, "Is this the right thing to do?" We have to think of our actions in terms of being a part of a bigger plan. We need to train ourselves to think in a larger framework with a bigger picture in mind. We have to learn to comprehend how our actions or choices will affect us and others. This is an ongoing process, but we can get better each time we ask ourselves the question, "What action do I want to make?"Be sure to join our email list at GNJ.Media so that you can stay in the loop, and also become a GNJMedia.supporter so that you can get the inside information exclusively saved for the Tribe.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/gye-nyame-journey-show--179352/support....more1h 8minPlay
