The boys return after a brief hiatus to talk about the Russell Westbrook-John Wall trade, the upcoming NBA season and recap which teams won and lost in free agency. Alex and Robby also touch on the college basketball season and MLB free agency. Luka Garza is a beast, the Phillies are going to make our blood pressure skyrocket and Cade Cunningham is showing us why he was a top recruit. There is also a recap of Week 13 which includes Robby painfully coming to the realization that the Browns are good, and Alex crying about how painfully awful the Eagles are. In a new segment, the boys predict the upcoming 2020-21 NBA season. They predict the season awards and who they think will go to the finals. In addition, we are back with more superlatives including Malik Beasley being a very baaaad booooyy. All this and even more laughs on this episode of Gym Class All-Stars.
Alex and Robby decided to release a special episode just in time for Thanksgiving. After putting all other sports besides the NBA on the backburner during last episode, the boys decided to dive deep into the NFL. They enlisted the help of their friend Ian to go over Tom Brady's polarizing season, discuss current NFL playoff picture and of course talk about the Eagles. Ian (like Alex) is a diehard Eagles fan so the two of them go back and forth about the reason for the Eagles' struggles and what they can do to still win the lackluster NFC East. Robby sits back and laughs as his team is still undefeated (*cough* spoiled sports fan). Whether you're traveling or sick of your in-laws, we hope you enjoy this special Thanksgiving episode and hopefully it makes the holiday better. We're thankful for all of you :)
Alex and Robby thought that after last week's "Mega Episode" that the NBA offseason would slow down a bit. Boy were they wrong! The draft was full of surprises, the Woj Bombs have been plentiful and Thunder are on pace to own the entire first round of the 2021 NBA draft. Alex and Robby break down the entirety of the draft, recap all the major signings and trades thus far AND do it with such gusto and comedic value that you can't not listen to this episode.
After last week's uneventful episode, the boys are thrust back into what can only be described as soap opera. Alex and Robby talk about all the current NBA drama, specifically CP3, Russell Westbrook, and Paul George on the trading block, James Harden being a bad teammate and leader, the Timberwolves continuing to be a brain-dead organization, the Pacers trying to silence Victor Oladipo and Udonis Haslem's new contract. In addition, the boys talk about the current NFL news and give their predictions for the Week 10 Matchups. Give that part a listen. It's scary how spot-on some of them are. For superlatives, the boys are all-in on the Iowa Hawkeyes and Luka Garza and give a well-deserved shoutout to Kim Ng for breaking barriers in sports.
The boys recap the NFL trade deadline, discuss the ever-worsening "dumpster fire" that we call the NFC East. Alex and Robby go over the rumors about the Detroit Pistons wanting to draft Lamelo Ball, and what his floor and ceiling are. The boys have their anticipated rematch in sports trivia and this time Robby was not messing around with his questions. Instead of superlatives, Alex and Robby give their sports betting picks for the Week 9 NFL games. You can see how great their picks were and more of the funniest and best sports analysis on the internet on this week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars!
The boys recap the Dodgers winning the World Series, go over the Nets signing Mike D'Antoni, ponder a Lavar Ball conspiracy, and give their thoughts about the Week 7 and Week 8 NFL games. This week, Alex and Robby discuss their mid season predictions for the NFL season. They discuss who they think will make the playoffs and who will win regular season awards (MVP, DPOY, OROY, DROY, etc). During superlatives, Alex starts a legitimate beef with the MLB while Robby praises Dalvin Cook for literally "cooking" the Packers (yeah we're great at puns). All this and more on this week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars!
The boys recap Week 6 of the NFL season, give their picks for NFL playoff contenders, recap the MLB world series and report on the latest NBA offseason rumors. This week, Alex and Robby decide to engage in a sports trivia showdown. They take turns asking each other five trivia questions: four from each of the major sports leagues and one from a random sport. A real nail-biter from start to finish. During superlatives, Alex has his first ever back to back most disappointing award recipient and Robby calls out Pat Chambers for being a "baaaaaaddd boy". One of funniest and most interesting episodes we've recorded, so give it a listen and tell your friends about it. Better yet, tell your family about it. Even better yet, tell that girl or guy you have a crush to listen to it.
The boys recap the NBA finals and what the championship means for Lebron, AD, and Hall-of-Fame implications for some Lakers role players. Robby makes fun of the Eagles for losing to his Pittsburgh Steelers and the boys recap the rest of Week 5 of the NFL season. Alex and Robby also give their takes on what these new positive COVID tests mean for the NFL and why we should not be so quick to cancel the 2020 season. Instead of a Kitchen debate, the boys talk about the upcoming NBA offseason. They give their "sleeper picks" for the upcoming draft, free agents who could make the most impact, and what the Bucks and Clippers need to do to become instant contenders. During superlatives, Alex calls out Michael Thomas for being a "Baaaaaaddd Boyyyy" while Robby praises Goran Dragic for playing through a nasty injury. Lots of jokes, laughs, spicy predictions, and more on this week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars.
This week's episode of Gym Class All-Stars is a special one. We had Ed Jennings on for an interview. Ed is a former walk-on at the University of Cincinnati, coach at the Swain School, founder of the SCBL, and most importantly (depending on who you ask) is the former coach of our co-host Robby. Ed talks about playing against NBA head coach Nate McMillan, how basketball has changed, and answered the burning question: is Robby a good basketball player? Ed is the embodiment of a "Gym Class All-Star" (and more) so make sure you give the interview a listen!
