Over the last four years a lot of talk has been going around about the Oklahoma men's gymnastics team dominance in the college ranks. This was not the case up until 2015 when Michael Reid and the Sooners won it all and got them back to their winning ways. While most gymnasts retire following their collegiate career, Reid is determined to reach even higher and compete on the world stage.

With close to 100 film festival awards, a gymnastics movie on Netflix called Chalk It Up, director Hisonni Johnson has broken through the film industry. From age of 12, he has been directing films. Johnson has worked with Olympians, NCAA champions, and some of the most notable gymnast actors in the business.

Going your entire college gymnastics career without a lost is something you can only dream about as a kid. For Hunter Justus, his dream became a reality and he has four national championship rings and finished his career at Oklahoma with a historic 97-0 record.

Canadian gymnast Justin Karstadt has been on fire this year. He was instrumental in leading the Minnesota men’s gymnastics team to a second place finish at the 2018 NCAA Championships while earning two all-american honors in the process on Pommel Horse (5th) and Parallel Bars (3rd). Karstadt continued that momentum two weeks ago at the Canadian Championships, capturing the Parallel Bars title.

Meet Paris McGee Jr., he is an athlete with many talents. It’s not often you meet a child actor who performed with the Lion King on broadway, decides to compete in gymnastics and wins nine Connecticut state titles. This all happen before entering his freshman year as a member of the Ohio State Men’s Gymnastics Team.

Gymnastics in Canada is on the rise and at this year’s championships every skill level was on full display. The fans at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex were buzzing with excitement to see Canada’s best gymnasts compete for national pride. Ellie Black and René Cournoyer won all-around titles at the 2018 Canadian Gymnastics Championships.

Last Wednesday, Michigan State announced that it had settled with 332 survivors of Larry Nassar’s sexual abuse for $500 million. $425 million will be divided among the women and girls, with $75 million set aside for any future Nassar survivors who come forward. Rhonda Faehn, USA Gymnastics senior vice president for the women’s program, is no longer working for the Organization.
