In the third instalment of our 'Sunday: Sabbath or Lord's Day?', we looked at the biblical defences or lack thereof for three popular positions historically held within the church regarding a new covenant day of worship.

We saw that the Christian's relationship with the Law including the Sabbath commandment is one that has been radically transformed and fulfilled by Christ.

In the second sermon in our Sermon on The Mount series, we looked at the first beatitude : blessed are the poor in spirit, where Jesus commends humility to His disciples.

We saw that only those who recognise how sin has marred their standing before God, and so rely solely on Jesus' record instead of their own, can be fit for the Kingdom of Heaven.

In the second instalment of our 'Sunday: Sabbath or Lord's Day?' series, we looked at the New Testament's teaching on the Sabbath.  We saw that Jesus Christ's teachings on the Sabbath in the Gospels, the pattern of the early church in Acts and Paul's teachings in the Epistles instruct Christians to view the Sabbath through the lenses of the all-sufficiency of Christ, the Lord of the Sabbath, who fulfilled the law on their behalf.
