In this episode, I get to speak with Dr. Nancy Zare.
She holds an MSW and Ph.D. in Organizational Planning and Development from Boston College School of Social Work. For more than 10 years she taught an accelerated program on Entrepreneurial Practice, Leadership, Organizational Development, Public Speaking, and Research Methods, both in the US and Sweden. She has studied successful sales professionals and knows exactly why they excel. More importantly, she can teach it to you!
Nancy is also the Founder of Rapport Builderz and past president of the National Speakers Association of New England. She has the gift of taking complex information and simplifying it by finding the nuggets and presenting them with clarity and pizazz. She originated The AlikeAbility™ System to help people sell professional services without being salesy.
A former professor turned entrepreneur, Dr. Nancy is certified in sales training and adult learning. She is the author of numerous articles and several books including Workplace Hostility: Myth and Reality; Introduction to the AlikeAbility™ System; Compelling Selling: Simple & Profitable Tips for Effective, Efficient Sales Conversations; Lead Generation Formulas; and No Pressure Selling: 15 Proven Formulas for Increasing Sales.
Dr. Nancy Zare graduated magna cum laude in psychology from Boston University. She later earned a master’s and Ph.D. from Boston College in social work.
Her career includes work in an in-patient psychiatric hospital, group work with children and families, college teaching, and marketing, sales, and implementation of Employee Assistance Programs. In 2011 she founded Rapport Builderz, an educational and consulting agency to help solopreneurs and small business owners develop comfort and confidence in sales conversations and acquire more business.
Nancy is the author of 6 books and many articles. She is the originator of the AlikeAbility(™) System, a 5-step process for building rapport quickly and authentically with all 4 Buying Styles. It is based on the Platinum Rule: treat others how they want to be treated. Nancy cares passionately about effective communication that honors and respects individual diversity.
In her leisure time, she is a student of spirituality. Nancy lives in South Florida and enjoys food preparation, swimming, and crafts. She volunteers as a foster family for the Farm Dog Rescue.
