Skeptics don't believe there's no evidence for major events of the Bible. There's actually quite a bit of evidence that's in agreement with the Bible. Archeology doesn't necessarily prove the validity of the Bible, but it supports it. The Biblical text is a reliable document.

The errors cited in the ancient texts are primarily minor in nature (not affecting any core beliefs of Christianity). The three most common variants are: word order, omission of a word or spelling inconsistencies. All that said, the New Testament is believed to be 99% accurate. Scott goes into detail about what makes an error, and the opinion of Bible critics.
