Hacks & Jacks

This week on Hacks & Jacks, Scott and Brett talk through the new and different format that Scott has organized the Top 150 Hitter's List beginning this week. With the end of the season looming and fantasy baseball playoffs well underway in some leagues, Scott has tiered his players into a handful of buckets: Auto-Start, Solid, Streamer, Droppable, Desperate and the players that matter on the IL. The guys go team-by-team through the list to make sure that fantasy managers are as prepared as possible for the looming fantasy postseason.

This week on Hacks & Jacks, Scott and Brett talk through news and notes from around the league, hitters who have climbed Scott's ranks and those who have fallen in the list as well. One of the most notable risers this week is Boston Red Sox second baseman Ceddanne Rafaela, who has propelled the Sox offense with an aggressive approach, alongside a combination of power and speed that many dreamed of but few saw coming in this extreme. Meanwhile, fantasy managers of Toronto Blue Jays first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. are stuck holding the bag on their first round pick. You can't trade him. You can't cut him. You just have to be sad that he isn't doing the things he used to. All that and more in this episode of Hacks & Jacks.

This week on Hacks & Jacks, Scott and Brett talk through news and notes from around the league, hitters who have climbed Scott's ranks and those who have fallen in the list as well. The top tier of the list has been reserved for just two names for the majority of the past two seasons: Shohei Ohtani and Aaron Judge. Now, with Judge on the IL, and a couple of superstars breaking out, that tier has expanded. James Wood and Yordan Alvarez have jumped aboard and show no sign of going away! The guys talk about some bats that are still hovering around the top-50 in player rater rankings but have been downright bad the past two months. Cut bait quick before you lose all you gained early in the year!

This week on Hacks & Jacks, Scott and Brett talk through news and notes from around the league, hitters who have climbed Scott's ranks and those who have fallen in the list as well. Remember the Vargas Rule of yesteryear?

"It’s a rule that’s applied when a pitcher who is historically not so great is performing at a high level we didn’t expect. You keep starting him until he gives us a reason not to, inspired by Jason Vargas‘ ridiculous start to the 2017 season."

Welp, now it applies to hitters, and it's named after Miguel Vargas. He's climbed his way to being a top-20 hitter in Scott's ranks, and he hasn't given us a reason NOT to leave him there. Scott talks about NL Central sluggers Alec Burleson and Seiya Suzuki and touches on one of the trending rookie bats in Colorado – do we stream Cole Carrigg? On the flip side, the pair laments their disappointment in big-name middle infielders, Trea Turner and Nico Hoerner. All that and more in this episode of Hacks & Jacks!

This week on Hacks & Jacks, Scott and Brett discuss all the injury and call-up transactions around the league, including whether any of the most recent prospects could have fantasy value or if they're all just names in the wash. Meanwhile, Samuel Basallo has firmly supplanted Adley Rutschman as the catcher to roster in Baltimore. Scott has removed a bunch of Mets from the list, including third baseman Mark Vientos. And he tells you why.
