Halil Cibran / Kırık Kanatlar (Allah'ın Eli )

Garipliklerle dolu o yılın ilk baharında Beyrut'taydım. Nisan ayı çoktan çiçekleri açtırmış ,çimenleri yeşertmiş ve bunlar , şehrin bahçelerinde yeryüzünün gökyüzüne açtığı sırlar gibi ortaya çıkmışlardı. Evlerin arasından görünen kokulu beyaz elbise giymiş badem ve elma ağaçları, tabiatın ,şiir ve hayalin evlatları için gelinler ve eşler gönderdiği parlak elbiseli hurileri andırıyordu.

İlkbahar her yerde güzeldir, ancak Suriye'de güzelden daha ötedir. İlkbahar yeryüzünde hızlıca dönüp dolaşan bilinmez bir tanrıdır. (Devamı yayında)

I was in Beirut in the first spring of that strange year. April had already made the flowers bloom, the grass green, and they appeared in the gardens of the city like the secrets that the earth opened to the sky. The almond and apple trees, dressed in fragrant white clothes, visible between the houses, resembled the brightly dressed houris that nature sent brides and wives for the children of poetry and imagination.

Spring is beautiful everywhere, but in Syria it is more than beautiful. Spring is an unknown god that spins rapidly around the earth. (Continued on the air)
