Geoff JohnsGeoff Johns is an award-winning New York Times bestselling writer, film, and television producer, and showrunner, known for re-imagining superheroes and other iconic mythologies, past and present. He came on the podcast to talk about Stargirl, the WB DC Show that recently aired its series finale, and we reviewed it on last weeks show. Johns created the Stargirl character in the comics as a tribute to his late sister who died tragically in a plane crash.Johns began his career as an intern, and then an associate producer for legendary director Richard Donner. He wrote many iconic comic books including Infinite Crisis, Blackest Knight, Green Lantern: Rebirth, and The Flash: Rebirth.He served as Chief Creative Officer (CCO) of DC Entertainment from 2010 to 2018 and as President and CCO from 2016 to 2018. He worked on various Arrowverse shows, including Arrow, The Flash, and Batwoman, among others. He came on the show after he tweeted “Whats the good word?” Seth replied, and the rest is history.Grunberg is best known for playing Detective Matt Parkman on the hit series Heroes and Eric Weiss on the equally successful show Alias. He also stars in a YouTube series entitled The Care Giver Series, which focuses on people who take care of loved ones afflicted with illness and other issues.In this episode, Grunberg discusses his love for the superhero genre. The production and performance were incredible. The film pays a proper tribute to Boseman. But the story of T'Challa, the Black Panther, is what the debate is about. Was T'Challa given a superhero death?Marshall Harris of CBS Chicago rejoins the show to discuss this film. He also offers a similar perspective to our review of the first film (Episode 88) in that Harris discusses what this film means to him as an African-American.The first 9 minutes of this episode present a tribute to the late Kevin Conroy.
