In the weeks following the murder of George Floyd, when so many protests and movements went on, social awareness grew in the United States. Soon after, voice actor Mike Henry announced he would not be Cleveland on Family Guy anymore because he is white and the character is black. Prior to that, Jenny Slate gave up the role of Missy on the Netflix show Big Mouth, and Kristen Bell left the role of Molly on the Apple+ show Central Park.Victor and Seth discuss these decisions, and the impact those decisions have in the animation world as well as society.Is there racism in voiceover work? Are these decisions helpful or hurtful to the movement? Finally, the question is asked whether or not this has any impact on the movement against police brutality.

Stargirl is the latest CW show to hit the airwaves. Originally designed specifically for the DC Universe app, Stargirl is now airing on both the streaming platform and the CW TV network. Nelson Lee plays Dragon King, a member of the Injustice Society, and a nemesis for Stargirl on the show. Lee is an acclaimed actor whose past credits include Blade - The Series (where he worked with Johns), Law and Order, and Oz. He will star as The Chancellor in the Disney film Mulan, which has been delayed to release due to COVID-19.Lee gives details about the show Stargirl and gives a few things to look for as Season 1 unfolds.Lee, born in Taiwan, talks about Asian stereotypes and being a minority on the heels of the George Floyd murder and subsequent protests and riots.

They begin the show by talking about HBO Max's announcement that Zack Snyder (Episode 28) is creating the Snyder Cut of the 2016 film Justice League, and Ruby Rose's departure from the CW (and HBO Max) show Batwoman.HBO Max features the best of Warner Bros. entertainment. It has every part of HBO's extensive library, plus hits like Friends and the Big Bang Theory.In the genre this podcast focusses on, it has a limited collection of DC Comics properties. However, some shows/movies excluded are because of deals with Netflix and other apps that came before the conception of HBO Max. However, some are because they are on the DC Universe app, another streaming service owned by the same company.
