With SKELETON CREW concluded, we return to our regularly scheduled programming on Han Took Shots First with the absolute best Star Wars film outside of the original trilogy, Gareth Edwards' ROGUE ONE! Since day one, we have had every potential guest request this movie, so we had to choose carefully and we're bringing along our friend Brandon, who previously guested on SUPER MARIO BROS, and The Classy Alcoholic of The Mixed Company Podcast, who has joined us for PASSENGER 57 and ANDOR's final episode. This film brings us the story of the team that had to steal and deliver the Death Star's schematics leading to the original, franchise-making film A NEW HOPE.
We discuss the final episode of Skeleton Crew's first (and hopefully not last) season, THE REAL GOOD GUYS. The pirates and our adventuring children all converge on At Attin as we finally learn the secret about The Supervisor and get a bit more into Jod's past. This episode is full of action and we were thrilled to get into it. Join us in video format on Spotify and YouTube and audio everywhere else!
In this week's two-part episode we'll dive into the most recent episodes of SKELETON CREW. First up, in Zero Friends Again, we pick up the moment the previous episode ended, with our pint-sized heroes plummeting through tunnels a la The Goonies and finding themselves lost on the garbage level of the pleasure planet, Lapuna. They have to use their wits to find a way back to their ship while also trying to mend their friendships. Meanwhile, Jod Na Nawood aka Captain Silvo is taken prisoner by his former crew and has to spill the beans about At Attin to survive.
Next, on We're Gonna Be In So Much Trouble, the kids, having escaped aboard the Onyx Cinder, are on their way back to At Attin, where they run into Jod and his former pirate crew. The pirates want to take the planet, but we learn about the barrier protecting it and the kids receive a message from their families. The Onyx Cinder makes it to the surface but we have more surprises in store!

Christmas this year happens to fall on our usual release schedule, so we figured we'd step away from our galaxy to celebrate Life Day in a galaxy far, far away! The infamous STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL is something that Lucasfilm has tried to scrub from the world, but persistent fans won't let it die, releasing upscaled and updated versions constantly on bootleg blu-ray and online. This variety show style TV special features extended sequences of Wookiees speaking to each other in Shyriiwook with no subtitles, Chewbacca's son, Lumpy, the introduction of Boba Fett in animated form, a Bea Arthur musical number and so much more. Tune in and get way too drunk with us this Life Day!
We have Whitney join us again as we dive into Skeleton Crew's newest episode, Can't Say I Remember No At Attin! We start to get more info about the enigma surrounding the "jewels of the Old Republic" and learn more about SM-33 and his connection to the mystery. Check the episode out in video on Spotify and YouTube or listen to audio anywhere else you get podcasts!

This week, we reach the conclusion of ANDOR, and the conclusion of our regularly scheduled Han Took Shots First episodes for 2024. On this episode, we welcome a new guest, our friend and local internet muckity-muck, The Classy Alcoholic! In the first half of the episode we discuss DAUGHTER OF FERRIX, in which Maarva dies, setting off a chain of events involving every major character in the series. In the second half of the episode, we get to the season finale with RIX ROAD. Cassian returns to Ferrix for Maarva's funeral, where Dedra Meero and the ISB want to take him in for interrogation. Shit hits the fan when a pre-recorded message from Maarva rallies the locals into a full-scale riot. We also finally learn what exactly it was the prisoners on Narkina 5 were building. We will be back in two weeks, as usual, but we will be kicking off our weekly coverage of the brand new Disney+ show, SKELETON CREW.

In the first half of this week's episode, NOBODY'S LISTENING, Andor begins to suspect something is very awry in the prison on Narkina 5 and his elderly cohort Ulaf suffers a major stroke. A prison doctor is forced to euthanize Ulaf, while revealing to Cassian and Kino Loy the secret of the prison... no one is actually being released, but just transferred to other sectors of the prison when their time is up! Also, Dedra Meero interrogates Bix for information, we discover that Vel is Mon Mothma's cousin and the ISB captures a rebel pilot trying to infiltrate one of their facilities. Then, in the thrilling conclusion to this part of the storyline ONE WAY OUT, Kino decides to help Andor and the other prisoners carry out a full-on uprising and attempt to escape the hellish Narkina 5 prison facility. They fight their way through the prison, but there is a tragic conclusion to the events, despite Andor's successful escape. Meanwhile, Mon Mothma meets with a shady businessman, Davo Sculdun, about trying to hide her financial transactions, but he wants more than she is willing to offer in exchange for it and, finally, we learn of a rebel informant in the ISB, who attempts to back out of his role, but is convinced to soldier on by some damn good speech giving from Luthen.
