Gatekeeper is a behind the scenes utility that first shipped in Mountain Lion. It's designed to protect you from rogue programs and verify downloads before you run them to keep you safe. It's probably the single most important and powerful defense against malware on macOS. But it can get in your way when you are trying to install programs that don't come from Apple. Leo Laporte gives you helpful tips to get the most from your Mac every week on Hands-On Mac.
