Apple's September 2024 event unveiled updates across their iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods lineups. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro feature Apple Intelligence, Apple's new personal intelligence system, along with the powerful A18 and A18 Pro chips, respectively. Both models include improvements to the camera system, such as a 48MP Fusion camera and the new Camera Control. Apple Watch Series 10 sports redesigned hardware with a larger display, thinner profile, and new aluminum finishes, while both Series 10 and Ultra 2 introduce sleep apnea detection and new watchOS 11 features. AirPods 4 received updates to its design, audio performance, and charging, while AirPods Pro 2 gain the ability to function as a hearing aid.

At its inaugural developer conference DevDay, OpenAI unveiled major upgrades like GPT-4 Turbo, a more advanced AI model that's 3x cheaper than GPT-4 and a 128k token context window that can handle much longer prompts. They also launched new multimodal capabilities so developers can integrate vision, speech, and image generation into apps. Key highlights include the Assistants API for building AI agents, the ability to create custom versions of ChatGPT called GPTs and share them publicly on the GPT Store, and Copyright Shield to protect customers. Overall, OpenAI aims to make AI more affordable, capable, and safe for developers to build next-gen apps.
