With faith, trust, and excitement, Renee and Drew are homesteading in New Mexico! They are diving right in and gave us the best reminder: you can start exactly where you are with becoming more self-sufficient. Renee is what I would call a traditional wife at home with homeschooling children, and designing their dreams. You will love getting to know this family!

This episode is full of information around starting homesteading, preparedness, building a community and network and reminding you that you don't have to do it all. We talked over so many topics, and I know the listeners will enjoy the wisdom and laidback conversation.

In this episode, Hannah speaks with Kailan Carr of California, also known as: The Quiet Book Queen! She creates "busy" books, to help reduce screen time for children. Kailan lives a sustainable lifestyle, and greatly advocates for sustainability, as well as small gardening in the suburbs.
This interview was so positive, full of connection, joy and personal experiences shared between Mel and Hannah. Mel is a clinical herbalist in Oregon and full of the energy we all need in our lives to get back to our roots - literally.
Hannah interviews Charity Reine of Ingalls, Indiana, about her journey starting to homestead 17 years ago, to now, having been homeschooling 5 children and developing one acre of land with livestock and a garden.
In this interview, Hannah talks with Samantha Hinman, who is basically a neighbor but they've never met in person. It is a touching ending about how two women in the community have connected and the way their farming has brought them both so much knowledge and life lessons.
In episode two, Sonya and William cover that the case followed them into the next county, and onto other properties. There is conversation around no representation at the walk-through, and the struggle around receiving respect around the birds' risk of exposing them to the Avian flu. The Morrisons are taking steps to engage positively with the community in free produce and food that they help haul in to reduce food waste. This is becoming an opportunity for others to step in and see the emus, the farm, and connect with the Morrisons in person.
In this episode, you hear SO many amazing viewpoints on how God is working through the Burton family's farm and lives. This episode is packed with grassroots and passion.

We are kicking off episode one of a four part segment and a bonus episode on the nightmare that the Morrison's have experienced. Everything from a nosy neighbor, drones flown over 35 acres, court hearings, dismissed witnesses, and more. This is a reminder to everyone that this is close to home, and sometimes, the rules don't apply - sometimes they're made up along the way and they hurt the working class. As we go through this series, I want everyone to think about how this is applicable in your day to day life, and no one is exempt from potential attacks on their livelihood and personal oasis.
