Beyond the Pretending, what's necessary for us to thrive? In the midst of the breakdown, what's necessary for us to rise?  David Lewis-Peart is a writer, speaker, and former lecturer and minister. Completing his first book of poetry, Pray You Break. His writing explores grief, loss, shame, mental health, and  truth-telling. We dive into the depth of what has us Queer Color folks pretend, then believe the pretending &  what's necessary for us to thrive.

Breaking is necessary, its painful and my default is to escape, escape, avoid and bandaid. What I wasn't seeing is that resisting the breakdown is me resisting my transformation. 

Allow your Self to break, you are becoming, ever evolving.
