The International Day of Listening was established by the International Listening Association (ILA) to create awareness of the importance of listening. In this Episode 3 of the Happily Ever Understood Podcast, we discuss the ILA and The International Day of Listening. This year's theme is "Listening to Heal".

Episode 2 of the Happily Ever Understood Podcast does a deep dive into the work of iListen and what the process of really listening is about. Every effort was made to cover the topic as honestly and truthfully as possible. We fumbled a bit, but these moments turned into great outtakes which will be posted in the very near future.

“Listen with judgment,” said in error. We always listen WITHOUT judgment, period.

The story of iListen begins with the journey of its Founder, Melaida Corpuz, who like most of us spent many years as an employee. By listening to her inner voice she created the path she was always meant to be on. As an entrepreneur Melaida speaks about the challenges, but most importantly her ”Why” for creating this business.

Imagine this world an even better place if we aim to understand its people's stories. Seeking to understand favors curiosity, patience, open-mindedness, and empathy. There is an absence of judgment…
The more we seek understanding, the better we can craft our work. The better our work, the more likely we are to positively impact this world. Understanding is also a way to access knowledge, and knowledge is power. If you want to build a better place, start with listening. That is not all! Because if you listen well and try to understand all sides, you will find that you have so much more than your own story. Because in this world of ours that is so small and so fragile, we are bound together by stories. In such a world, curiosity, patience, open-mindedness, and empathy would be highly valued qualities. People would recognize the power of understanding and would actively strive to cultivate these qualities within themselves and their communities. By embracing the richness of diverse stories, this world would become a more harmonious and inclusive place, where every individual's experiences and perspectives are acknowledged and respected.
