This week on Happy Alone, Andrea talks to the Artistic Director of Bad Dog Theatre Company and her former castmate in the Bad Dog Season 2 Featured Players - Coko Galore! They chat about how to treat yourself like a queen while working that never end hustle.
This week I talk about my fave stuff - nesting and cats - with my guest Shohana Sharmin. I met Shohana in the Toronto improv community. She a lovely human and a talented, award-winning writer and performer. Sho is a member of sketch comedy sweethearts Not Oasis and the heart and soul behind the prolific show Dead Parent’s Society. We talk about how she keeps her creativity alive and spends her time alone in isolation in episode 5 of Happy Alone!
Daphney Joseph is an amazing human. A talented actress, a hilarious comedian, one-half of the improv legends Coko & Daphney, and is now exploring her depths as a visual artist. On top of this, she is a light and joy and luckily for me she was the first person to welcome me into the Toronto improv community. Recording this episode made me realize I need to get to know my friends more because I learned so much about Daphney recording this episode. I feel incredibly blessed to know someone as wonderful as Daphney and I am excited for you to listen to episode 4 of Happy Alone to get to know Daphney Joseph.
Welcome to Episode 3!
CW: grief and loss of a loved one
This week I sit down with wonderful actress, writer and producer Dana Puddicombe to discuss our journey with dealing with grief during isolation.
Andrea chats with Jonathan Shaboo about how his creative process and life have changed during Covid-19 and how he is learning to be happy alone.
A four-year veteran of The Second City Toronto and graduate of The Steppenwolf Theatre in Chicago, Jonathan has performed on stages across both countries and has been fortunate enough to work with some of the industries best along the way.
Selected Credits: Evil Dead: The Musical (Starvox Ent. US National Tour)
The Ministry of Mundane Mysteries (Outside the March Theatre) The Second City Totally Likes You (The Second City Toronto) Winter of 88 (Nowadays Theatre) We Will Rock You (Starvox Ent.) Greater Expectations (The Second City Toronto)
There is no better way to get on the path to self-love than by having a little chat with yourself! Comedian and writer Andrea Marston will sit down with guests each week to discuss how they develop their relationship with themselves but for episode one she starts with the guest she knows best... herself.
