Voices in the Family

Happy Anniversary ADA!

Listen Later

Twenty-five years ago, President George Herbert Walker Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act, bettering the lives of many Americans and their families. A lot has happened in the past 25 years —ramps, curb cuts and things you can’t see such as changing attitudes. How has the quality of life changed after this legislation and what needs to happen going forward to ensure those with disabilities have access to all aspects of our society? We talk with ADA lawyer Steve Gold about civil rights and to Maggie Goldberg of the Christopher and Dana Reeves Foundation about improvements in family life.
