Many times in relationship counseling we heard date 1x per week, go away for a night 1x per quarter and go away for a week 1x per year. I think this ALSO can apply to start up life! We took a 24 hour get away to Nashville and it was so rejuvenating. Turned off work, laughed until my sides hurt, soaked up the Sun and got off my computer! It’s vital to recharge as an entrepreneur starting out:) I recommend 1x a quarter plan a 24 hour mind rest and ENJOY LIFE for a happier, rejuvenating journey making a big impact in the world! Wellllll I sounded the alarms on a tech issue that it turns out was user error not our platform error. I feel such responsibility for all the moving parts of this tech startup so when a coach said the platform had charged incorrectly I felt awful and called in the team on high alert for the fix. Turns out…user error. Not a tech error. So I grew up as a leader learning to get ALL the information BEFORE pointing a finger! I take responsibility and move on to a new day. Don’t ever settle!!!! That is the #1 thing I have learned along this entrepreneurship and female founder journey! Here are 3 keys to find the right consultant fit that have worked for me: 1. Before hiring look at the other clients they work with and see if you REALLY like the work - you are spending your hard earned money so you want to spend it in things you REALLY like 2. Gauge if your personalities will mesh. Like really mesh. I hired before with pushy personalities and it imploded in my face. This time around I knew EXACTLY that I want kind, growth mindset, collaborative team members and it’s been so much more FUN! My barometer: will I actually LIKE getting an email or phone call from this person??? 3. Trust. Your. Gut. As a Founder or Business Leader your unique brilliance has gotten you to where you are- trust your instincts when looking to hire teams or contractors. Cheers to never settling!
