In this insightful podcast series, I teach you and invite you to be a happy nurse educator. This is where we address the real-world challenges of nursing education.
Today we are talking about Learning Styles Decoded.
Have you ever felt like you just weren't getting it? But then someone came in with an explanation or a process that truly resonated and all of a sudden the light bulb in your brain was burning brightly with understanding.
A friend of mine and I were talking the other day and she told me a story about how she had to switch up her parenting tactics between her two Children.
A situation had come up where the tactic she'd used with her older child completely flopped when she tried to use it with the younger one, she couldn't believe the difference it made when she changed her approach and how much closer she was able to draw her daughter in with the adjustment though it came from retroactive action.
This experience has and will continue to fuel future scenarios in her parenting.
And as we were talking, it made me think. Isn't that a lot like teaching a group of diverse learners? What works for one may not work for another.
I implore you to take a closer look at your teaching methods and figure out what ways you can further incorporate multimodal learning so that your repertoire can be truly robust and catch all learners.
