For more than half of the history of the United States, we survived without an income tax. It was just over 110 years ago that the Constitution was amended to allow the taxing of “any and all” income, regardless of how that income was derived. The income tax, first sold to Americans as a way to raise money from the very rich has now impacted every America. It was all a power grab and a way to have even more control over the population.
