Cliff and Jenny Weiss talk with Debby Hart, Grant Elementary PTA about International Walk To School Day and the Safe Routes To School program. The N.C.R.A. meeting, Arcata Rail With Trail project and the Governor's veto of the 3 foot passing bill are also discussed.

Cliff and Emily talk with Bill Kier of the North Coast Railroad Authority about the newly created Bay Rail Corridor Committee. 3 public meetings will take place staring this Friday, 10am in the Eureka City Council Chambers. The first meeting will be dealing with the condition of the rail prism. The next meeting, October 12th, will be dealing with potential Trail Development along the corridor. The 3rd meeting on October 26th will deal with the potential of restoring Rail Service on the line. The public is invited and encouraged to attend these meetings.

Cliff and Emily talk with Dave Snyder, Executive Director of the California Bicycle Coalition about the pending 3 foot passing law now on the Governor's desk. Also discussed, innovative bike lane and pathways in other states currently not allowed in California.

Cliff and Emily talk with Dan Ehresman, Programs Manager of the North Coast Environmental Center about the Coastal Clean Up day the future of the circulation element of the General Plan Update in the light of the fact that several members of the Humboldt County Board of Supervisors have urged scrapping the 12 years of work and public comment and starting from scratch.

Cliff and Emily talk with Alison Pernell, project manager for the Local Government Commission, about plans for Orick.

Cliff talks with Emily Sinkhorn about the NCRA Rail/Trail commette, Arcata's plans to build a trai from the skate park to near the midway portion of the Bay Trail. Also the legal review of the Annie & Mary rail banking process, the Circulation Element part of the County General Plan Update coming before the Board of Supervisors on Sepember 17th. And lastly the State Assemblee's decision to support the "3 foot passing law."
