In our final sermon of the series, we see how the New Covenant is promised to those who are covenant breakers. Jesus is the one who sets the New Covenant in motion in his first coming and will bring it to full completion in his second coming.  Pastor Omar ends the series by reflecting on how we can prepare for the second coming of Jesus.

In the Covenant with Abraham, the Lord promises to use a family to accomplish his plans for humans and the world.  Through faith in Jesus, we become children of Abraham- we become the fulfillment of God’s promise to Abraham thousands of years ago.

The Covenant with Noah is God’s promise to preserve humans in the face of evil. In this sermon, we see how this promise points us to the first coming of Jesus as he takes the flood of God's judgment for us so we can experience God's mercy. It also points us to the second comings of Jesus, where he will bring the final flood of God’s judgment and mercy.

Summary: This sermon considers what Ephesians 1:18-23 teaches us about the Kingship of Jesus. As King, Jesus offers us the promise of belonging and the power of his Spirit. He is also able to defend us from the spiritual forces of evil.

We see that, Jesus called himself Lord of the Sabbath as a way to demonstrate the release and restoration that he brings and the future hope of rest offered to us in the gospel.
