  • Asking For The Right Gifts
In this last study in our "Theology Of Giving" series, the focus is on what we can ask the Lord to give to us. Even though He has already done so much to save, transform and empower us, He is still willing to "give the increase" in certain areas of our lives. The Bible details four specific requests we should pray every day, which will bring the Lord glory and allow us to give back to others.

  • One vs. One Million
Wars in the Bible can serve as a metaphor for the problems and trials in our lives. Whether they are a spiritual attack or a proving of our faith, we need to respond with unwavering faith. In 2 Chronicles 14, Judah faced the Ethiopians, and they were outnumbered and under equipped. But King Asa called on the Lord. The perspective of his prayer, and what he asked, showed that he knew the Lord would provide victory. In this short study from Prayer Meeting, Pastor Rhoads explains that not only was the Lord's victory complete, but He also graciously rewarded their confidence in Him. He is ready to do the same in our lives.

  • The Grandpa Principle
Everything we understand about giving starts with the pre-emptive generosity of God. His sacrifice for all people is our awesome example. So beyond money, we also need to be sacrificial in how we give of our time and our spiritual gifts. Our time is a limited, irretrievable resource, so we must be wise in spending it well. And when we align our money with our gifts, we can have a powerful, generational impact that goes farther than we ever may know. (Note: The 61,320 hours quoted in the message actually should have been 8,760 hours. We apologize for the miscalculation.)

  • The Test
There is one time in the Bible when the Lord challenges us to prove that He will keep His promises. In Malachi 3, He does this even though Israel is defiant and disobedient, mocking His call to trust and follow Him. So if He promised to bless them if they would turn from their sin, how much more will He bless His faithful children who trust and live wholeheartedly for Him? Here, He establishes three pre-requistes for our giving, telling us to test His promise that He will pour out blessing that is beyond measure.

  • 1st & 10
The Lord established the "tithe" within the Old Testament Law...so does that apply to the Church in 2018? If not, what are we called to give? This study explores four Biblical passages which show that our giving should be a voluntary, grateful consecrated act of worship. So the principle of giving 10% should be our foundation, as we sacrifice proportionally, in view of God's provision and blessing.

  • Before We Begin...
During the time when Israel was between Egypt and the Promised Land, the Lord established 7 Festivals--sacred assemblies designed to remind them of His faithful provision, and keep their hearts dependent and consecrated to Him. One of those was the Feast of First Fruits, in which they were to bring the first part of the harvest to the Lord as an offering. The spiritual principle behind First Fruits not only applies to us in how we give to the Lord, but also reminds us of His eternal work in our lives.
