Hard Truths From Christ:
Jesus is not here for peace

Luke 12:51 (ESV)
Do you think that I have come to give peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division


WHAT!!!! Jesus' own words about his mission fly in the face of what many think of him. With all of the divisiveness present in society these days, it seems like the last thing we need is a gospel text that seemingly encourages more division.
 
Jesus is passionate about what His ministry means and what is at stake. We should be too. We see Jesus declare that following Him means Judgment, Death and Division. For he does bring peace, but not at the cost of the Gospel.
