This video is an episode of the radio program Hardcore Christianity, hosted by "Brother Mike," a professional counselor at the Arizona Deliverance Center. The episode provides a religious-spiritual interpretation of schizophrenia, linking it to spiritual oppression and offering faith-based deliverance.

Key Themes and Claims

• Spiritual Causation: The host asserts that schizophrenia is fundamentally caused by childhood trauma, abuse, abandonment, and the entry of "demons" into the child's brain, which gradually take over the mind by their late teens or early 20s.

• Substance Abuse as a Trigger: Substance abuse—specifically drugs like methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, and marijuana—is described as an "open door" that allows demonic infection into the brain.

• Skepticism of Medical Treatment: The program claims that psychiatric medications make patients worse 70% of the time and only improve conditions 30% of the time. It also claims that traditional recovery programs like AA and NA have only a 3% success rate.

• Faith-Based Healing Protocol: Brother Mike states that while he has not healed most schizophrenic patients he has treated, full recovery is possible through the ministry's specific "protocol," mind renewal, and spiritual deliverance.

Profiles and High-Profile Cases Discussed

The host cites several violent high-profile crimes to illustrate what he describes as the extreme potential outcomes of paranoid schizophrenia and psychotic breaks:

• James Holmes (2012): The Aurora, Colorado theater shooter.

• Ahmed Alissa (2021): The Boulder, Colorado supermarket shooter.

• Nick Reiner Case: The host speaks extensively about Nick Reiner (son of actor/director Rob Reiner), detailing his history with substance abuse, multiple rehab stints, and a medical conservatorship. The host claims that following a medication change in late 2025, Nick suffered a severe psychotic break and killed his parents—though he notes the patient experienced amnesia and had no recall of the event. (Note: The host's narrative contains factual inaccuracies regarding the status of the Reiner family).
