Troy talks about getting back into fantasy football after a decade away from the game.  Chet assumes it is because of some gambling issue but us quickly rebuked by Troy. Matt is not concerned with any football oyhet

than high school football. Matt's alma mater is on a 57 game win streak and he's there for it all!  The guys shift to talking about their #Top3 coaches. Chet takes the approach of rating coaches heavily on their relationship with the players, not so much the transactional coaches.  Matt closes us out with a good word concerning several folks that he's quietly proud of. He talks about them while referencing 2 Cor. 12.

Chet talks about the high-cost of youth soccer in America preventing the best athletes from kicking it in youth leagues.  The conversation then shifts to the top3 2024 presidential candidates. Trump doesn't make anyone's list. Troy is the epitome of low information voter which makes his list hilarious! Chet claims our nation gets what they deserve when candidates like Biden and Trump are what we settle on as voters. Special "guest" Demarius Davis, Line Backer for the New Orleans Saints recently proclaimed the Gospel in a post-game press conference. Chet plays this press conference because it is so powerful. People need the Gospel. Use your platform!

This week on Hardheaded, Chet leads Troy and Matt through a comversation about how the Bible advocates for violence against sin. It is the closest to preaching a sermon tbat we have seen on the podcast! 

From John Piper “Kill Sin by the Spirit” sermon in 2002: Jesus said in Matthew 11:12, “From the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffers violence, and violent men take it by force.” Do you want to enter the kingdom of heaven? Take it violently! But violence against whom — or against what? Listen to Jesus’s answer: “If your hand or your foot causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it from you; it is better for you to enter life crippled or lame, than to have two hands or two feet and be cast into the eternal fire” (Matthew 18:8).  Do you want to enter life? Take it violently. Cut off your hand or your foot if you must to keep from stumbling. It’s a picture of the most radical kind of assault on our own sin. Not the sins of others — our sins.

Lay that on top of Romans 8:13: “If by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.” Do you want to enter into life? Do you want to live? Get violent. Get a wartime mindset. Stop making peace with ears and eyes and tongues and hands and feet that betray you like Judas, and go over to the side of the enemy and become instruments of sin and make war on your soul. Put to death the deeds of your body.

Then the guys jump into their top 3 Time Wasters. It seems all three of the guys are experts at wasting time! The show wraps with atroy drawing a blank on a good word.
