A long play it is conrads, this time the fasted game of 1830 I've ever played (still lost)
This is a long play of the dos version of 1830: Railways & Robber Barons. This is the classic "TRAIN" board game which has become so complex it usually requires a computer to play anyway.
In 1830, the goal is to be the player with the most money, including non-liquid assets, when the bank runs out of money. As the manual so helpfully states, "If the bank is out of physical currency just use a pen and paper to track player earnings".
1830 is unique in that it innovated a truly new game mechanic (a very rare thing), namely the stock market. The stock market is affected by player actions and determines the course of the game, as well as the value of specific corporations.
I have to admit I don't like how slow this runs, but given a typical game is 6 hours in person, a complete game in less than 90 minutes is shockingly fast, especially for 1995.
