Walking in the way of Jesus is a very difficult thing to do. So many aspects of living a life that is pleasing to Christ involve putting aside your human nature and human reactions, and instead choosing a different path. And Pastor Jeff teaches today that you just don’t have the strength on your own to live that kind of life consistently. Instead, rely on the sources of strength that God has provided for you. Spend time in God’s word, seek the Lord in prayer, and build relationships with other believers.
God allowed the enemy to do a number of terrible things to Job, and yet Job remained faithful to God. Despite losing his entire family, and all of his possessions, Job refused to curse the God that had given him everything in the first place. And Pastor Jeff reminds you today that when Job came through the other side of the storm, God blessed him even more than he had been before. When the Lord allows you to face a storm in life, He will be there waiting to lift you up and make the sun shine on you.
Many people are tempted to give up on a project after it fails. How many unfinished hot rods are sitting in people’s garages, unfinished after a setback? But the key is to not give up just because of a setback. And God knows better than anyone else that growth is a process. When you buckle under the pressure of your storms, don’t worry that God is going to give up on you. In fact, He will come alongside you and help you rebuild what was broken. Pastor Jeff wants you to know that God is on your side.
In your walk with Jesus, have you ever faced storms that felt impossible to overcome? Have you ever questioned God's presence in the midst of life's challenges? Pastor Jeff reassures you in today's message that there's no obstacle beyond God's overcoming power. He remains faithfully by your side, orchestrating every circumstance for your ultimate good, even when He feels distant. God has never abandoned you and never will. Turn the world upside down for the sake of God’s divine kingdom.
When you accepted Jesus into your life, did you realize that you were being filled with His divine power? Do you spend every day using this power to pour out His love to the world? In today’s message, Pastor Jeff wants you to know that you need to be using your gifts to further God’s Gospel. In everything you do, never forget the great commission set before you. Don’t waste what God has given you and change the world in His name. Be a difference maker and grow closer than ever before to the heart of God.
When car manufacturers are designing new models, they need to run safety tests to ensure that their vehicles will protect passengers in the event of a crash. And just like those vehicles, your own life will be subject to tests and trials to refine and develop your faith. Pastor Jeff reminds you today of the parable of the house built on the solid rock, and how having that foundation in Christ will keep you from being blown away by the storms of life. Resisting those storms will help you get stronger.
Jesus set a high bar for Christians when he was confronted with the failure of His disciples to stay awake with Him in the garden of Gethsemane. He could have brought down righteous anger, knowing that there was horrible suffering coming His way, but instead, Jesus prayed for His friends. Pastor Jeff reminds you today that you should always be in prayer, especially in seasons of depression. The enemy may try and tear you down, but the Lord is the one who will bring healing to your mind.
When a boat starts taking on water, the crew has to spring into action to bail the water out of the boat, if they want to have any chance of saving the boat from sinking. And that’s exactly what you have to do if you want to prevent your mind from sinking into the pit of depression. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that negative thoughts can accelerate your descent into depression, so the best thing you can do is capture those negative thoughts before they begin to make you sink.
Sin is like an old man who’s lived in the same home his entire life. He never wants to leave it behind, and it may take a lot of effort to get him to completely leave, even if it’s what’s best for everyone involved. Pastor Jeff teaches you today that sin can be a stubborn thing to get rid of, but the power of Jesus can purge it from your life one piece at a time. But He won’t do the work unless you surrender those issues of sin to Him. You need to do the work of recognizing the sin issues within yourself.
Is it a bad thing for you to be hungry? When you break it down, hunger is just your body communicating a desire to eat food. Needing to eat is not a bad thing, but if you commit sin while obtaining the needed food, that becomes a problem. Pastor Jeff doesn’t want you to be ashamed of being hungry, or of having needs and desires. The problem is when you turn to sinful behavior to meet the needs of the flesh. Trust in the Lord to be your provider, and let Him show you what He can do.
