I saw this great illustration on LinkedIn (see link below) that distinguished between two types of burn-out. The first illustration was straight forward and you can see my reply to it below, but the second one depicted a phenomenon I would characterize as "living a life without purpose/passion". I will refer to this as feeling "extinguished" since the flame goes out in the illustration.
If you are feeling "extinguished" or like life doesn't have purpose, I would suggest you consider the words of Socrates who said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." How can one life a life full of joy, purpose, and passion if one hasn't examined what one needs to feel those things? That's like getting into a boat and expecting it to get you somewhere you want to be without a course or a compass and maybe without even a destination (gasp!) What are the odds you would end up somewhere good without any of those things.
What's the solution? Life design which I discuss in this podcast. 🗺️
I also discuss one of my favorite tools for life design, habit tracking. 🧭
