Understanding the natural rhythms and constraints in our lives is essential to self-care. The reminder of these natural limits allows us to remember our humanness and take care of our needs instead of pushing ourselves to burn out. In this episode learn how to harness the natural rhythms of your life to foster the healthiest and happiest version of yourself.

You can’t give what you’re not receiving.

It’s important to understand the natural design, rhythms, and constraints around you. Learning to accept these limitations requires humility. 

How to harness life’s natural rhythms: 

  • Rest - this isn’t a reward, it is a requirement 
  • Sleep hygiene - get enough sleep, keep your phone away from your bed, etc. 
  • Take breaks - unplug, take a nap, etc.  
  • Take vacations - find times to get away, also try taking a full day off each week 
  • Food and exercise - pay attention to your body, take care of yourself
  • Personal energy cycles - there are certain times of the day when you work better
  • Business cycles - understand the different seasons of your business life
  • Seasons within nature -  how do different seasons affect your energy? 

Transformation Application: What areas of your life have you been too hard on yourself? Give yourself a break! Where are you not paying attention and not honoring the fact that there are natural constraints or limitations? Write it down. What will you do about it? Tell someone for accountability.
